We are taking Legends off the schedule on Saturday, August 13, so our regulars have the opportunity to race for $3,000-to-win at Carteret County Speedway that night.
Unlike “America’s Nicest Short Track,” we do not want to force our racers to have to pick and choose which track they want to race at.
We had a deal in place for July 30 that Carteret County would take Legends off the schedule if we took Chargers off the schedule – which we had done. That agreement was broken, and Carteret chose to try to “one up” our big race instead, as Bob Lowery has tried to do to us and other nearby tracks repeatedly since the day he inherited the complex.
We apologize to all the drivers and fans for what has happened in recent weeks, and we regret that we are not going to be able to work with Bob Lowery’s Carteret County Speedway to make this region stronger. We are not going to continue putting Carteret County Speedway’s interests before our own knowing it will not be reciprocated.
All of us at Goodyear All American Speedway wish Bob Lowery the best of luck with his track, but we simply cannot work with them. It’s not possible. We tried.
Thank you for all your support and we’ll see you for our birthday party and races on Saturday, July 30.
