JACKSONVILLE, NC – Saturday night’s grand opening race at Goodyear All American Speedway promises to be the biggest race of the season in Eastern North Carolina to date with competitive fields across eight divisions.
Heading into Saturday’s race, over 60 drivers have confirmed their entries for the All American Showdown while others have been on hand for open practice sessions. The Champ Karts and Late Models will see at least 14 drivers chase down wins in the first race at the rebranded track in Jacksonville, North Carolina, while Mini Cups, Super Trucks, and Street Stocks also have healthy fields entered.
Jason York, a former winner of the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway, Late Model Stock Car racing’s crowned jewel event, will face off against two-time Carteret County Speedway champion Chris Burns, former UARA-STARs and Southeast Super Truck Series race winner Clint King, former East Carolina Motor Speedway champion Louis White, regional veteran Rusty Daniels, former NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Ohio state champion Tim Allensworth and more.
Clint King will be one of a handful of drivers attempting double duty as he will also compete in the Super Truck feature race. Morgan Odum, a former champion in the Coastal Carolina Mini Cup Series, will also attempt the double, competing in a U-CAR race as well. The Legends field will see Marine veteran D.J. “Mad Dawg” Murphy and active-duty Marine Staff Sargeant Derek Burleson racing against young guns such as Chase Singletary, who has multiple Legends wins at Carteret County Speedway, and Carsyn Gillikin, who won two races in Mini Cup competition at the track when it was called Coastal Plains Raceway.
Saturday’s race marks the first race under the management of Anthony and Tonya Goodyear, who took over the track with hopes of making the venue a premier racing destination for drivers and fans in Eastern North Carolina. Anthony Goodyear had previously competed in Super Truck races at Carteret County Speedway and Florence Motor Speedway.
Prior to the race, the track has seen a facelift, including fresh paint, upgraded concessions, and more. Goodyear All American Speedway is located at 4744 Richlands Highway in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Green flag racing will commence at 7pm with the first of two Late Model races kicking off the action. Super Trucks, Street Stocks, Legends, U-C Ars, Champ Karts, Mini Cups and Jr. Mini Cups will also be in action. Tickets are available at the gate for $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, active and retired military and students (with ID), $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five and under free. Trackside spots and camping are also available.
The complete pre-entry list can be seen below, with more cars expected to show up on Friday evening and Saturday for practice and racing.
