JACKSONVILLE, NC – Solid Rock Carriers has signed on to be the primary sponsor of the biggest race of the season at Goodyear All American Speedway on Sunday, November 14.
The Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars, which was announced a few weeks ago, pays $10,000-to-win and has already drawn interest from some of the biggest names in Late Model Stock Car racing. The new title sponsor of the race, Solid Rock Carriers has been involved in racing for several years.
“It’s great to have Kirk Ipock and Solid Rock Carriers come on board to sponsor this race,” Anthony Goodyear, promoter of Goodyear All American Speedway, said. “Kirk’s done a lot for racing, from the CARS Tour to what he’s done for drivers, and we’re glad he wants to be a part of what we’re doing at Goodyear All American Speedway.
Earlier this year, Solid Rock Carriers and Goodyear All American Speedway, along with other area businesses, teamed up to gather supplies to deliver to Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Solid Rock Carriers delivered the trailer down in September.
“Anthony, Tonya and I began talking after the relief thing for the hurricane in Louisiana,” Kirk Ipock, owner of Solid Rock Carriers, said. “Anthony wanted that he wanted to do this race of champions. I love Late Model Stock Car racing, bottom line. Whether it’s Wake County, Southern National or Goodyear, I want to see Late Models at this track. Long story short, I told Anthony I would help him in putting on this race and I’m looking forward to a good race.”
Solid Rock Carriers, which is owned and operated by Kirk Ipock from LaGrange, North Carolina, runs refrigerated trailers mainly in the Northeast. The name “Solid Rock Carriers” is derived from the Hymn “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less” which states, “On Christ, the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”
Solid Rock Carriers has been in business since 1997 and currently has 52 employees and a fleet of 32 trucks. Solid Rock Carriers is always hiring. Ipock got into racing through his friend, Super Late Model racer Jody Measamer.
The Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars will see some of the biggest names take to the 4/10-mile Goodyear All American Speedway alongside local drivers, such as T.J. Barron, Chris Burns and Brandon Clements.
Two-time Hickory Motor Speedway track champion Ryan Millington, two-time Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour champion Jared Fryar, former Hickory Motor Speedway champion Jacob Heafner, 2008 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 winner and former UARA-STARS champion Jason York, two-time Caraway Speedway champion Ryan Wilson, and South Boston Speedway standout Eric Winslow are among the early pre-entrants while several other big names, soon to be announced, have committed to running the race.
