JACKSONVILLE, NC – Forecast rainfall for the weekend has forced New River All American Speedway to cancel the Ronnie Hetu Memorial, which was scheduled to be run on Saturday, May 18.
The race had originally been scheduled for mid-April before severe weather caused a postponement to Saturday night. Once again, an unfavorable forecast will affect the race – which was to be headlined by a $1,000-to-win Mini Stock feature. Saturday’s forecast calls for rain throughout most of the day and evening on Saturday, while Sunday’s forecast is similar.
Tickets purchased online for the Ronnie Hetu Memorial will be honored at any upcoming NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series event at New River (excluding UARA, SMART Tour and Battle of the Stars race dates). Anyone who had already purchased tickets or pit passes for the previously rained out event can bring their armband from that race to any of the upcoming NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series races.
Races for each of the divisions that were scheduled to compete will be made up at a future date.
