JACKSONVILLE, NC – New River All American Speedway has canceled Saturday night’s Summer Classic due to the forecast for excessive rainfall through the weekend.
The National Weather Service is calling for 4+ inches of rain in Jacksonville throughout the next three days. Between rainfall itself and the time required to dry the track, if the track were to race, there is simply not enough of a window to try to run the race.
With lightning already in the area and rain expected to begin on Thursday afternoon, New River All American Speedway is also canceling the Thursday and Friday night open practices for the week.
The next race on the New River All American Speedway schedule is scheduled for Saturday, July 20.
