JACKSONVILLE, NC – New River All American Speedway will ring in the new year with racing on New Year’s Day for the third consecutive year.

The Hangover Nationals will feature racing for the local stars in the Bomber and Rumbler (formerly U-CAR) divisions, as well as Legends and Bandoleros.  On top of those races, the New Year’s tradition will also feature a Powder Puff race, a Tire Stack race, and a Flagpole race.

“We have a lot of fun spending New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day with our racing family, going back to when we ran the restaurant at Carteret County Speedway, and the Hangover race has become one we look forward to every year,” Anthony Goodyear, New River All American Speedway track operator, said.  “This year, we’re doing a lot of cool things with the Bombers which they enjoy doing and will be doing much more of that this season.”

After the Halloween Havoc event in October, many of the competitors in the Bomber and Rumbler divisions expressed interest in incorporating some of the races done in that event into other races on the calendar.

Leading into the race, the track will have an open practice until dark followed by a New Year’s Eve celebration in the campground.  Then, on the morning of January 1, the pit gates will open at 9:00am followed by racing at 12:00pm.

Tickets will be available online through MyRacePass and at the gate on race day for just $10, while kids five (5) and under get in free.  New River All American Speedway also has trackside parking and camping available.
