JACKSONVILLE, NC – Kevin Wrenn picked up his third career victory under a full moon in the Swansboro Liquidation Bomber division at New River All-American Speedway after a lengthy rain delay on Monday night.

Aaron Pacitti led the race from the start to the finish, but both he and Hunter Brown were disqualified after the race for a breakout time violation, handing the win to Wrenn.  Entering Monday’s race, Wrenn had already scored two victories, including one on Saturday night, and clinched his spot in the playoffs.

“That was amazing,” Wrenn said in victory lane.  “That was just an amazing race and everybody did so great.  I loved it.  I’m thinking championship.  Being able to keep up with these guys is an amazing feat and to come back and win twice in a row, I just can’t believe it.”

Chad Cunningham finished in the runner-up position, putting himself two points above the cutline in playoff points ahead of September’s Race for the Championship.

“There’s a lot of racing still to go and I’ve got one more spot to get,” Cunningham said.  “That’s where the big prize comes.  I need one more spot.  Going back to the fire last year, I’ve replaced everything on this car.  I think you need to watch out for this dog because he still has some fight left in him.”

Katie Gooden scored a career-high third place finish.

“It’s really hot in the car, especially when you’re sitting there forever,” Gooden said. “My ultimate goal was to get ahead of Chad, but there’s another race.”

Clay Jones led wire-to-wire in the 60-lap NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model feature, while Travis Miller won in Mini Stock competition and Aaron Layden took home the victory in the Champ Kart division after Austin Banker was disqualified for refusing postrace technical inspection.

Summer Speedweeks continues on Saturday, July 8 with the New River Rumble featuring the 52-lap, $520-to-win B-52 Bomber Car Battle.  Late Models, Champ Karts, Bombers, Mini Stocks and U-CARs will also be in action.
