JACKSONVILLE, NC – Haley Brown picked up her first career win and punched her ticket to September’s Race for the Championship in Saturday night’s All-American Showdown at New River All-American Speedway.

Brown, who began racing earlier this year, won in the second of two races in the Swansboro Liquidations Bomber division – leading all 20 laps in the race.  With her win, Brown is locked into the semifinal round of the Race for the Championship playoffs in September.

“We are in the playoffs,” Brown exclaimed in victory lane.  “It feels so good.  So many people have doubted me and said that I’m a dirty driver and things like that.  I’m just here to say that I done it and I’m so proud of myself.  I’m very excited.  I held first most of the race and I’m so proud of myself.  I’ve came a long way.”

Haley’s older brother, Hunter, won the first Bomber race.

Kinston’s Josh Eubanks was able to hold off his teammate, Aaron Layden, twice in the Champ Kart division, sweeping both features.

“I couldn’t tell if it was [Jimmie Whitehurst] or Aaron behind me a few times,” Eubanks said.  “I was just hoping it was Aaron would get to my bumper.  We got it done and I want to thank him for helping me.  We just worked together all week on all of our karts trying to get them faster and faster.”

David Werner picked up the overall victory in his Vintage Modified in the Southern Ground Pounders race, while Kevin Floars won in Sportsman, and J.T. Bierman drove away from the field in the USAC Eastern Midgets, prevailing over a thrilling battle for second between Hunter Wise and Logan Sulyi.

New River All-American Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, August 5, 2023 and again on Saturday, August 12, 2023, with Bombers, Champ Karts, U-CARs and Mini Stocks in action both races.  Late Models will be in action on August 5 in the Please Don’t Rain 200.
