JACKSONVILLE, NC – Bradley McCaskill is returning to Goodyear All American Speedway, a track he won at twice last year, to compete in Saturday night’s New River 125 presented by United Rentals.

McCaskill, 32, from Archer Lodge, North Carolina, is one of 23 drivers who will compete in the fourth round of the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour this weekend, but he’s one of only nine who have recent Late Model experience at the 4/10-mile track in Jacksonville.  Last season, he scored two victories at the track, both wins coming in a doubleheader in April.

“I’ve had a lot of success at this track,” McCaskill said.  “It’s definitely a different track to try to get a handle on but there are a lot of great drivers in the CARS Tour, so I think they’ll pick it up pretty quick.  I think the track experience should help us out some.  The car that I’m driving had a really good run at the end of the year last year, so they have notes to build on as well.  We have pretty high expectations coming into the weekend.”

McCaskill will be driving in Hedgecock Racing Enterprises’ house car – a car Connor Hall drove to a third-place finish in the Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars last November.  It will mark McCaskill’s first start in the CARS Tour since May 2019.

McCaskill has one previous win in the CARS Tour, which came at the now-defunct Concord Speedway in 2015. His plan on Saturday is to pick up his second career series victory or at least come home with his third top-five.

“I don’t get a chance to run much asphalt now anymore and, if I didn’t feel like we had a good shot at winning, I’d pass it by,” McCaskill stated.  “I think a top-five is a realistic goal for sure.  Winning in the CARS Tour is really hard.  You’ve got to have a good car but also catch some breaks and have a solid race too.  If everything falls into place, looking for a top-five run for sure.”

In recent years, McCaskill has been racing a dirt Modified at various North Carolina tracks, noting that any seat time in any kind of race car is beneficial.

“I think anytime you get behind the wheel of a racecar, it’s going to help you in any form of racing you do,” McCaskill explained.  “The more you can drive a racecar of any sort, the car control helps in anything.  One definitely compliments the other.  I don’t know if there’s a specific area [where dirt experience helps] other than seat time and the feeling of the cars in general.”

Saturday’s New River 125 presented by United Rentals will commence at 7pm.  Gates open at 4pm.  Tickets are available on race day for $25 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five (5) and under free.  Senior and military discounts are available as are trackside spots and camping.
