JACKSONVILLE, NC – Amber Slagle is hoping to contend for the win in Saturday night’s Late Model doubleheader at Goodyear All American Speedway after a respectable 12th place finish in last November’s Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars.

Slagle, who is also a part-time competitor in the ARCA Menards Series West tour, will make her second start at the 4/10-mile track on Saturday night – a track she had a lot of fun at in November.

“I learned a lot at the Battle of the Stars,” Slagle said.  “The track is very different from anything I’ve raced on, but I’d say it’s also the most fun I’ve had in a Late Model.  We had a lot of success there back in November, given the competition we were up against and knew that going into the weekend.”

This time around, she’s hoping to score a victory.

“I feel like my expectations are a bit higher going into this weekend, with having been there before and understanding the track,” Slagle remarked.  “A win this weekend would be huge and I think it’s possible.”

Slagle is a former Super Stock champion at Owosso Speedway in Michigan and has won in a Late Model at Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway.  She is also a former competitor in the JEGS CRA All-Stars Tour with a best finish of 14th, a result she recorded at Salem Speedway in 2014 and duplicated at Springport the following year.

After moving south in 2018, Slagle’s seat time has been limited to a handful of Late Model and ARCA races a year with Bruce Cook racing – but her participation in the sport is active.  She works full-time with GMS Racing, doing wraps for their cars and trucks, while helping Bruce Cook Racing in the ARCA Menards Series – sometimes as a crew-chief for other drivers.

Following this weekend’s race at Goodyear All American Speedway, Slagle will turn her attention to Kern County Raceway Park on the driving side for an ARCA Menards Series race that will take place at the ½-mile track in Bakersfield, California on Saturday, April 23rd.

“[A win this weekend] would be a good start going into my ARCA race in a couple weeks,” Slagle stated.  “I’ll be racing the ARCA car at Kern County on April 23rd, and hopefully a couple more throughout the year if everything works out.”

The Late Model division will run twin 40-lap features in the Spring Duel on Saturday night at Goodyear All American Speedway.  Mini Stocks, U-CARs, Bombers, Legends and Bandoleros will also be in action.  The green flag will fly at 6:00pm.

Tickets are available at the gate for $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/military/students (with ID), $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five (5) and under are admitted free.  Suites and trackside parking are also available for Saturday’s race.

Goodyear All American Speedway is Jacksonville’s Action Attraction featuring racing and other events.  For more information about Goodyear All American Speedway, check out the speedway’s website, like/follow “Goodyear All American Speedway” on Facebook, or follow the track on Instagram.
