Curtis Lanier hopes to close out dominant year with another victory

JACKSONVILLE, NC – Curtis Lanier had a breakthrough season at Goodyear All American Speedway and is looking to close out the year with at least one more victory as he attempts double duty in the opening round of the Winter Heat Series on Saturday.

Lanier, 31, from Beulaville, North Carolina, entered the 2021 season with just one lone win at Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama in 2019.  Heading into the final race of the year, Lanier has since scored five U-CAR wins at Goodyear All American Speedway in Jacksonville, as well as wins at Southern National and Carteret County Speedway.

“I’m super excited about going into this weekend looking for my ninth win this season,” Lanier said.  “It’s been a dream year with that many wins and adding a Mini Stock to my schedule, I know the competition is a lot stiffer in the Mini Stock, but I plan to capture some wins in it next year also.  Why break a great streak?”

On top of his nine U-CAR wins in 2021, Lanier also scored four wins during the Halloween Havoc Night of Destruction back in October at Goodyear All American Speedway.  With nine race wins at the track, Lanier has made victory lane something of a new home this season.

“Man, it’s like a dream come true,” Lanier continued.  “I never thought I would be in this position.  I love my new home and I think I’ll stay here.”

Last weekend, in the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park, Lanier competed in a new Mini Stock for the first time while also competing with his U-CAR in a separate race, which he won.  On Saturday afternoon, Lanier will double up again with the goal of visiting victory lane twice.

“After doing double duty last week at Southern National, the very first time in the Mini Stock, we did great with some of the best Mini Stock racers out there.  I feel very good about this weekend and hopefully we can bring home two trophies.”

The Mini Stock and U-CAR divisions will be in action along with Late Models, Legends, Bombers, and Bandoleros.  Additionally, Saturday’s Winter Heat Series will feature Goodyear’s Original Spectator Drag Races at the conclusion of the feature racing program which gives fans the opportunity to race their car around the 4/10-mile track and is free to participate in.

Tickets for Saturday’s Winter Heat Series race at Goodyear All American Speedway are available at the gate on race day for $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five (5) and under are admitted free.  Seniors (63+), active and retired military, and students can get in for $12 with ID.  Grandstands open at 12:30pm and racing will commence at 2pm.
