MOORESVILLE, NC – This Saturday, July 16, the Grand National Super Series presented by Engineered Components Co. will tackle Goodyear All American Speedway, located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. This will be the first event for the series at the 4/10-mile uniquely configured track.

This weekend will also bring former rivals Frank Kimmel and Jeremy Mayfield together. The two have previously traded paint while racing street stocks in the Indiana-Kentucky area in the early 90s.

Although Mayfield and Kimmel are set to put on an epic battle, they may be competing for second place if A.J. Henriksen has anything to say about it. A.J. dominated the second 50-lap race at Franklin County Speedway. It looked as if A.J. had the race won when lapped traffic became a factor. Mayfield, Henriksen, and a lapped car went three-wide going into turn one on the last lap with Mayfield coming out the victor. Henriksen will be looking for redemption.

“We had a great car and I really hate how that one turned out,” Henriksen said.  “I know we will be fast again this week and I won’t be giving them (Mayfield, Kimmel) any slack.”

More than thirteen cars are set to take the track including some great new talent in Joe Wilder and Cody Dennison.

“This Saturday is going to be an awesome show,” Grand National Super Series owner Patti Schact said.  “We are all so looking forward to the race and to visit the beautiful facility.”

The gates open at 2 p.m. Saturday with practice getting underway at 4 p.m. If you have ever wanted the opportunity to meet some of your favorite drivers your will get your chance at 7 p.m. with a meet and greet before the show. The Green flag drops at 8 with GNSS races being the third and final event of the evening. GNSS will use the typical race format consisting of two, 50-lap races. This race will air live on Racing America so there will be no live feed from our Facebook or YouTube channel.
