JACKSONVILLE, NC – Goodyear All American Speedway is set to roar to life on Saturday, July 31st with a Late Model Stock Car doubleheader headlining the All American Showdown.
Goodyear All American Speedway, located off Richlands Hwy in Jacksonville, is the relaunched and rebranded oval track at Coastal Plains Raceway Park. Earlier this month, veteran racer Anthony Goodyear and his wife, Tonya Goodyear, took over management of the day-to-day operations at the oval circuit with a vision, and that vision is set to become a reality on July 31st.
“The inaugural race at Goodyear All American Speedway is going to be an intense night at Jacksonville’s Action Attraction,” Goodyear said. “We’re looking forward to getting our first race in and seeing our racing family at the track. Troy and Ronnie Humphrey presented us with an opportunity too good to turn down and we’re enjoying the challenge of bringing this track back to life.”
With cost savings for the racers in mind, Goodyear All American Speedway will run the Late Models on American Racer scuff tires for the opening race with the hopes of being able to procure new tires in the coming weeks and months as production issues inside the industry ease. Tires for Late Models and Super Trucks will be available for $170 per set, with mounting fees and taxes included in the price.
In addition to the Late Models, the All American Showdown will feature racing for Super Trucks, Street Stocks, U-CARs, Legends, Champ Karts, Mini Cups, and Jr. Mini Cups.
Free open practices will be held on Saturday, July 24th from 2pm-8pm and on Wednesday, July 28th from 4pm-8pm. On Friday, July 30th, an open practice will be held from 4pm-8pm for $25 per car. The track will also be available for rent by appointment only for $150 for four hours for Late Models, Super Trucks, Chargers/Challengers, and Street Stocks and $75 for four hours for all other divisions. The track can be reserved for rent by calling the speedway office at (910) 708-0202.
Rules for all divisions, with the exception of Street Stocks (which will run on an 8” tire instead of a 10” tire) are available on the Goodyear All American Speedway website at https://goodyearallamericanspeedway.com/rules/.
Enhancements are already being made at the facility which includes a new paint job as well as upgraded concessions. There will also be a family section in grandstands which will be smoke free and alcohol free.
Tickets will be available at the gate on race day for: $15 for adults, $12 for active/retired military (with ID), seniors (with ID) and students (with ID), $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids five and under free.
